Britney's Lawyers' Million Dollar Fees

PageSix.com just obtained the minute order from Britney Spears' custody hearing on Monday, and Commissioner Gordon still hasn't decided what legal fees the pop star should be forced to pay.
In a four-month period, almost $1 million in fees were incurred. Kevin Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is seeking around $500,000 and wants Brit to pay the bill, and Britney's former lawyers Trope and Trope are seeking close to $600,000.
The report also said that Mark Vincent Kaplan's deposition transcripts were ordered sealed.

It looks like lil' Jamie Lynn Spears is going to be raising her little man in K-wood rather than subject him to H-wood and the crazy media cauldron his aunt Brit subjected J.J. and Sean to.A source tells MSNBC that J-Lynn is building a nursery in Kentwood, La., near the rest of the family, and that it's being designed by Petit Tresor, which also did J. Lo's nurseries. Apparently, Britney is paying for the ocean-themed room, and shelling out more than $30,000 for it (even though she's only getting $1,500 per week allowance.)Of course, remember that Britney was going to keep Jayden in Louisiana for a while – but we all know that didn't really pan out.

Britney Spears is glad to be back on TV.
"Working at How I Met Your Mother has been so terrific," Spears said in a statement obtained by Entertainment Tonight.
The singer is scheduled to play Abby, a dorky receptionist, on the March 24 episode.
"Everyone, including the cast, the crew and the producers, has been wonderful and Abby is such a fun girl to play," Spears said. "I'm having a blast!"
She filmed scenes yesterday in L.A. Her mom Lynne was spotted visiting her trailer.
"Britney’s not playing a version of herself," Mother creator Craig Thomas tells Us. "I think that’s part of what appealed to her."
He said she agreed to the part just one day after reading the script.
It is Spears' first return to the small screen since a 2006 cameo on Will & Grace.

Britney takes a great fall, meets some sketchy men and then blows herself up.Oh, the subtext.We just got a look at Britney's new video for "Break the Ice" and have to say that, like most anime, it's an incomprehensible mix of explosions, slow-mo dance moves and some kind of ninja riot police.And yet its meaning is clear: Britney is a superpowered woman in skintight clothes who overcomes adversity by nuking herself and everyone around her.Yeah, the last part is a little Freudian for our taste.In the video, Super Spears finds something in a floating tank—her soul? her real self? her aquatic dopplegänger?—and proceeds to apply a time bomb to the tank, blowing it and everyone else to bits as she jumps out a skyscraper window all Die Hard-style. The video ends with the promise (or threat) that it will be continued.That's a good thing, right?

Yes, Brit’s new music video for her single “Break The Ice” is definitely very anime-inspired. The single’s set to release on April 14, but I’m sure all Brit fans already know the song from her current album, Toxic. She has been really busy lately and probably didn’t have time to do a proper video. This is definitely a creative way to introduce a new song and will be a surprise for her fans. LATEST: Troubled pop star BRITNEY SPEARS landed an appearance on her favourite U.S. sitcom HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER after the singer's agent asked the makers to create a character for her.
Spears - who will appear as doctor's receptionist Abby - is a huge fan of the show, and deemed a guest role in the series a perfect assignment at this juncture of her turbulent career.
Creator Craig Thomas admits he was ecstatic when Spears' representatives contacted him, and was left in no doubt he'd made the right decision to recruit her when she turned up for a script reading - and impressed everyone present with her acting talent and enthusiastic approach.
He says, "Britney's people ended up coming to CBS and expressing interest in our show, and we were thrilled. 'Britney Spears watches our show!'
"They said she was looking for a small part on a funny show, and she checked out our show and liked it. They were really receptive to the idea of bringing Britney in and just doing a funny role for her. It all came together really quickly - it was kind of shocking.
"She seemed to have a great time, and we had a great time working with her. It was just like really a normal table read."

The pop star's latest video, an animated clip for her new single "Break the Ice," is debuting Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Web site BlackoutBall.com, her label, Jive Records, has announced.According to the label, access to the video will only be permitted once fans discover and enter two passwords, available only on Wednesday on the BlackoutBall.com site. Once inside, fans will get to "mingle" with fellow party goers until the anime Britney (dressed as a futuristic, bodysuit-clad superhero) makes her debut. Lynne Spears is in Los Angeles to visit with her grandchildren, a source close to the family tells Access Hollywood.
Lynne Spears will see Britney's boys with Kevin Federline - Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.
The grandmother is currently dividing her time 50/50 between Los Angeles, where Britney lives, and Kentwood, Louisiana, where daughter Jamie Lynn Spears, is holed up, preparing for the birth of her first child.
Lynne has been splitting her time between the two locales in order to support Britney, who is currently under a conservatorship and 16-year-old Jamie Lynn.
As for Britney, the family feels that lately, there has been an "upswing," in how things are going for the embattled pop star, the source told Access. The family acknowledges however, that they have a "long way to go," the source added.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Britney will appear in the primetime sitcom, "How I Met Your Mother."
She has also been teaching occasional dance classes to children at the Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles.
Britney and her father, Jamie Spears, who is co-conservator over his daughter, are getting along "OK," the source added, and the pop singer is said to be more "stable," of late.
The family is "hopeful for the first time in a long time," the source added over Britney's condition.

New Details On Britney's 'Mother' Role

ET confirms that BRITNEY SPEARS' appearance on the CBS comedy, "How I Met Your Mother," will air Monday, March 24. She will play Abby, a receptionist at Ted's (JOSH RADNOR) dermatologist's office. This will be her first acting gig since appearing on "Will & Grace" in 2006.

New Details Emerge Over Britney's 'How I Met Your Mother' Role

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
New details have emerged about pop singer Britney Spears’ latest acting venture.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Britney has taken on a cameo role in CBS’ primetime sitcom, “How I Met Your Mother.”
A rep for the show now confirms to Access that the episode in which the “Baby One More Time” singer appears is scheduled to air on March 24.
Britney will play a receptionist in a doctor’s office that Josh Radnor’s character, Ted Mosby, goes to see.
It is not known when Britney will tape the episode.
Details have also emerged about the casting of Britney in the show, which stars Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan. According to a source close to the program, Britney is a fan of the sitcom and approached the show about doing something.
This is not Britney’s first foray into acting. She previously appeared on an episode of NBC’s "Will & Grace.” She also starred in the 2002 big screen feature, “Crossroads.”

If "Break The Ice" is a freakin cartoon for a music video for real, I'll first laugh my ass off, then throw any sharp object around me at the closest person in proximity, then cry. The Sun is reporting that these are stills from the upcoming music video for "Break The Ice," even claiming it was Britney's idea to have a cartoon for the video: "The audacious promo to forthcoming single Break The Ice is set in a futuristic world, and sees Brit depicted as a pretty, slim line superhero. And the unorthodox shoot was the star’s own idea. She told label bosses she wanted a cartoon version of her celebrated Toxic clip." Guess we can't have it all! Would prefer her to get healthy then a new video shoot anyway.

Britney Spears "Was Laughing A Lot" on How I Met Your Mother Set

Usmagazine.com has confirmed that Britney Spears will guest star on the March 24 episode of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
The pop star, 26 will play Abby, a receptionist at a dermatologist’s office who falls for architect Ted (Josh Radnor) when he comes in to have a tattoo removed. (It is Spears' first return to the small screen since a 2006 cameo on Will & Grace.)
In Abby’s first scene, she bursts in during Ted’s painful session.
“Doctor, are you all right? I heard a woman screaming!” Abby says. Seeing Ted, she giggles.
Us spoke exclusively to show creator Craig Thomas about Spears, who attended a table reading with the cast on Monday.
Tell Us how this all came about.Britney’s people ended up coming to CBS and expressing interest in our show, and we were thrilled: ‘Britney Spears watches our show!’
They said she was a big fan of the show?They said she was looking for a small part on a funny show, and she checked out our show and liked it. They were really receptive to the idea of bringing Britney in and just doing a funny role for her. It all came together really quickly – it was kind of shocking.
How quick?We heard that they read about the part on Thursday. We were literally in the middle of a re-write of that script, and they said, ‘Oh, we’re having dinner with Britney tonight, and she likes the show. Can you get her a script a half-hour from now?' So we just sort of busted ass for the next 40 minutes, hit print and showed her our in-progress rewrite of the episode. She got in and thought the character was really funny and said yes the very next day.
So the script came before you knew Britney would be attached to it?That’s right. They thought the part was a great thing for Britney to do, just to keep her acting chops up and come have fun with us for a week.
Describe the role.The episode's about Ted, our main character. Ted went crazy one night earlier in this season and got an embarrassing butterfly stamped right above his ass. Not his proudest moment. So he's now in the predicament of having to remove this tattoo, so he goes to a dermatologist to remove it and gets a big crush on his dermatologist. What he's sort of oblivious to, as he’s pursuing this dermatologist, is that the dermatologist’s receptionist (Spears) is falling in love with him. It's a fun, romantic comedy episode.
So Britney's character is kind of mousy?She is just trying to get Ted’s attention and keeps on screwing up, saying awkward things. Ted’s absolutely oblivious. Go, Josh Radnor — he has Britney Spears chasing after him in this episode!

Sources connected to the TV show "How I Met Your Mother" tell TMZ the cast members were told Britney wouldn't be on the show unless they said it was ok. They met with her and they liked her -- they really, really liked her!We're told the entire group of actors approved Brit. She was, as one of them put it, "laid back and collected."We're told Brit will play the receptionist for Ted, Josh Radner's character. But that wasn't the original plan. Alicia Silverstone was supposed to go on the show and Britney was then asked to play her receptionist, but Alicia didn't want to be upstaged and refused to play ball. Unclear if Alicia has backed out altogether.

Brit's Faux Lawyer Files Appeal

Jon Eardley, the attorney who filed a request to have Britney Spears' custody and conservatorship cases moved to the federal courts, has appealed the February 1 decision that granted Jamie Spears control of the pop star's affairs.
In documents obtained by PageSix.com, Eardley claims that Brit wasn't given the proper five-day notice prior to the hearing.
Because it was determined that Britney isn't fit to retain her own counsel, Eardley has never officially represented the pop star. Eardley, who practices law out of his mother-in-law's home, shares spokesperson Michael Sands with Brit's former pal Sam Lutfi.

Brit's Conservators Clean House

New players have been brought in to look at Britney Spears' business affairs, and the money the pop star shells out for additional lawyers could end up paying off — literally. Florida-based attorney Jorge Hernandez has been retained to head up Brit's audit with Jive, her longtime record label, to determine whether the company owes her money. Tom Hansen, a powerhouse L.A. entertainment lawyer, has also been hired to look at all of Britney's contracts.
Jamie Spears and Andrew Wallet, co-conservators for Britney's estate, are getting a much better idea of where Britney stands financially and "are being extremely thorough in assessing the situation," our source tells us. "Her business affairs were in disarray because Sam [Lutfi] had isolated Britney, and it's going to be a very tedious task of going through everything." As we exclusively reported, Howard Grossman, Brit's former business manager, was a very good friend of Sam Lutfi's. Grossman has since been fired by Jamie.
The pop diva did not appear in court yesterday, as noted in the minute order released today, which states, "The court finds that the proposed conservetee is aware that this hearing and has chosen not to appear." Britney opted instead to go to a table read of How I Met Your Mother in preparation for her guest appearance on the show.
The minute order also states that going forward, all doctors names wouldn't be disclosed.

Madonna on Drugs, Profanity and Justin's Ass-ets

Madonna is arguably one of the world’s greatest entertainers, and her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was no exception. The singer regaled the audience with tales of drug use, a story about the time she made Justin Timberlake drop trou — and she peppered her acceptance speech with curse words.
She revealed to the crowd that her longtime publicist, Liz Rosenberg, was "smoking a joint" when she met her and that she and music executive Michael Rosenblatt once "did a tab of Ecstasy and danced the night away."
The singer even showed a rare moment of humility, thanking critics who "said I was talentless, that I was chubby, that I couldn’t sing, that I was a one-hit wonder." She said: "They inspired me because they made me question myself repeatedly and pushed me to be better."
Actor Tom Hanks inducted this year’s honorees, who also included John Mellencamp and Leonard Cohen. A shirtless Iggy Pop took the stage to perform Madonna’s hits "Burnin' Up" and "Ray of Light," later hopping into the pop star’s lap.
Justin, who introduced Madonna, was not lacking for entertaining anecdotes, either. In his speech, he described Madonna as someone who has "always been a woman on top," noting that she "fully enjoys that position."
He also shared a story of the time Madonna offered to give him a B-12 shot while the two were collaborating on her forthcoming album "She proceeds to pull a Ziploc bag of B-12 syringes out [of her purse] and says, 'Drop 'em.'" He continued: "So I immediately dropped my pants. She gave me a shot in my a** and looks at me and says, 'Nice top shelf.' That was one of the greatest days of my life." Madonna corrected: "Everything he said is basically true, but I didn't say, 'Drop 'em,' I said, 'Pull your pants down.' I like to be accurate because you know I am a control freak."
She then said that Justin was responsible for her ribald language. "He's rubbing off on me. He's bringing sexy back," she told the audience, before turning to him and threatening, "I'll get you, f******!"
Justin also took the opportunity to joke about former girlfriend Britney Spears, saying that despite Madonna’s busy career, she "found time to publicly kiss someone I may or may not have kissed myself… Of course, you all know who I'm talking about: Sean Penn."
He also noted the number of "Madonna wannabes" in the music industry today. "I might have even dated a couple of them," he quipped. "But there is truly only one Madonna."

Britney Creates Mama Drama

Hollywood was abuzz yesterday with the news that Britney Spears was returning to TV to guest star as a secretary on How I Met Your Mother — she had been MIA from television since a 2006 Will & Grace cameo. Everyone was looking forward to seeing if Brit could pull it off — everyone, that is, except for Alicia Silverstone.
See, Alicia was set to play the woman that Brit would be assisting, but according to Pink is the New Blog, the Clueless star felt the pop star would overshadow her and has told producers she's outtie. Way harsh, Tai.
Stepping in last minute to replace Alicia is Scrubs’ Sarah Chalke, reports TV Guide. Sarah knows a thing or two about being a late-in-the-game substitute — she took over the role of Becky Connor on Roseanne for three seasons after the orig Becks, Lecy Goranson, left to attend college. Brit’s ep is set to air toward the end of April and fans of the underrated show are praying this isn't the encounter that has Ted telling his kids, this is how I met your mother.
