More Lawsuits, Johnny Wright Still Suing Britney

As word leaks that Spears blew $60 million in the last year, Johnny Wright, Spears' former manager (and current Timberlake co-manager), is looking to collect on an old debt.Despite a management contract signed in 1999, which entitles Wright Entertainment Group (WEG) to royalties and commissions through February 20, 2008, Spears quit paying in December 2006, and Wright sued in 2007. Since then, she's put out two albums, Greatest Hits/My Prerogative and Blackout. However, exactly how much she owes isn't even known, says Clay Townsend, Wright's attorney in Orlando, Florida. The total bill "cannot be determined without an accounting (getting records of what she made from different sources—merchandise, etc)." And Spears and her reps have ignored Wright and Townsend's requests for financials."We are disappointed she never responded to our lawsuit only because such matters proceed more smoothly with an orderly exchange of documents," Townsend tells Radar, adding that Spears defaulted last year, long before the game of musical chairs with her representatives, lawyers, boyfriends, and money managers. As for his client, Wright, Townsend says, "Johnny has expressed publicly his regrets for what she is going through, but we have simply not received accounting and payments from her organization for quite some time, not just during the recent chaos."

Transcript of Larry Rudolph on Showbiz Tonight

RUDOLPH: To go see a Britney Spears show with her, you know, back in her prime and doing what she does best, at this point, I can`t imagine a hotter ticket.

ANDERSON: That`s Britney Spears` former manager, Larry Rudolph, telling SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that Britney Spears is in position for the biggest comeback in history.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. I`m Brooke Anderson. Tonight, a SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive interview with Britney Spears` former manager, Larry Rudolph. Now, Larry was right by Britney`s side throughout her massive worldwide success. But the two suddenly parted ways over a year ago just as Britney`s troubles were just getting started.

Now Larry, who is currently a judge on the hit MTV show "Rock the Cradle," is back in her life and says that she`s doing better than ever.

I sat down with Larry, and we talked about what it was like for him to watch Britney fall and why he thinks she could come back bigger than ever.

ANDERSON (on camera): You really are known to have been the backbone of her career. And then you parted ways. It was said that you wanted to get her help. You wanted to get her into rehab. But then you parted ways. The downfall began, the head shaving, the VMA performance, the psych ward. Were you shaking your head in disbelief? Because you`ve been there; you`ve helped her all through the years.

RUDOLPH: Yes. You know, it was a difficult time, there`s no doubt about it. It was difficult for me to watch. I think it was difficult for everybody to watch who knew her. But she`s really strong, and she`s smart, and she`s pulling it together now in a great way. And I`m really happy to see it.

I mean - You know, look. Everybody goes through their rough times. And she went through a very rough time, and hopefully the roughest time she`ll ever have. I really see - I`ve been spending a little bit of time with her nonprofessionally.

I`ve just been spending some time with her over the past few weeks. And she`s been doing great like she`s in a much, much different place. And I think that`s all passed, and that`s all behind her.

ANDERSON: You know, on your MySpace page, it`s flooded with postings from people saying, "Larry, please help Britney. We need the old Britney back. Is she all right?" And you`re saying she is. And she`s going to come back stronger than ever.

RUDOLPH: Yes, I do believe that. I mean, look, the jury`s - the jury`s still out - I mean, it`s not there yet. I mean, be clear. You know, she`s well on her way. I mean, like, you know, I`m very, very happy with where she is now. I`ve had great conversations with her. She`s in a much different place than the last time I saw her.

You know, I hadn`t seen her in a year. And I had been watching what everybody else had been watching. And it was rough. And now it`s a lot better. A lot better.

ANDERSON: You said she could make the biggest comeback in history.

RUDOLPH: Right.

ANDERSON: How big do you think? And you have a lot of faith in her, don`t you?

RUDOLPH: Well, think about it. I mean, ultimately, if she - if it`s what she wants, and if she decides that she wants to get back into the recording studio, get back on a stage and put that all on again. If that`s the life that she wants and she gets back on a stage, for instance, think about what that would be.

To go see a Britney Spears show with her, you know, back in her prime and doing what she does best, at this point, I can`t imagine a hotter ticket in terms of a touring ticket. I mean, there`s no show that I`d rather see. You know, I think a lot of fans agree with that.

ANDERSON: A lot of fans would pay to see that, I`m sure. But what`s your strategy? Do you have a three-point plan to help her get back to where she can be?

RUDOLPH: There`s no strategy right now. There`s no business being discussed, and that`s the best way for now. It`s not about that right now. It`s not about business. It`s not about whether she makes another album, whether she goes on tour. Anything, I`m just talking, you know, what if.

Right now, it`s just about her sort of, you know, getting it back together, getting back to where she needs to be in her life, not her career.

Lynne Gives Britney A Surprise Shower

Britney Spears' mother Lynne may want the paps to cool it around her daughter - but she might need to try another approach!First, we caught up with Brit as her assistant returned from Starbucks run before heading over to the gym. (Hey, gotta get some energy before you hit the treadmill, right?) We noticed Brit was wearing a white shirt with a pair of hot pink pants; we thought she looked cute as a button - but apparently, Britney thought otherwise, because her next stop was Niketown!Inside, Brit met up with Lynne and picked out some new workout threads - specifically a blue top and some black pants. Lynne picked up a few bottles of water while she was there, too - we know because Lynne came out trying to squirt 'em on the paps! The only problem? Lynne's aim was a little off - and she only managed to soak Britney!Britney naturally shrieked in protest at being splashed and hustled back into the car. Luckily, Britney and Lynne had made up by the time they got to Ballys - in fact, they ended up working out together! (Hey, we're not surprised Britney didn't hold her mother's squirts against her - after all, she's probably used to it by now!)

Brit's Lawyers Say "Pay Up!"

Britney Spears' conservators were back in court again on Thursday afternoon, where they discussed among other things, the subject of payment.Commissioner Goetz agreed to advance Andrew Wallet, Sam Ingham, and attorneys for the conservators exactly half the money they are expected to bill for. Ingham, Brit's court appointed attorney will be getting $10,000 a week through July 31. Co-conservator Wallet gets $100,000 and the Luce Forward law firm will get $175,000--and that's just for work done through March 31.Clark Byam, another attorney, will get $22,500. Stacy Phillips, the lawyer repping Brit in the family law case, will get $75,000--also for work through March 31.Meanwhile, Comm. Goetz once again struck down a March 17 filing by Jon Eardley to present, 'on record,' the declaration of retired UCLA Law professor William McGovern. Eardley still claims he is working for Britney and that the current conservatorship is violating her civil rights.

Britney Spears hides behind a blanket!

Life has changed much for Britney Spears who, from routinely flashing her crotch sans panties during late night forays to night clubs, has now resorted to hiding behind blankets, as she did Thursday, April 17, when she visited a salon in West Hollywood, Ca. The change in her lifestyle is for the good. Ironically, even a change for the good can cost a packet these days. LA Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz, who is overseeing Britney's conservatorship, ruled Thursday that she needs to pay nearly $400,000 to the numerous lawyers that have been minding her affairs. While $400,000 may not be an unnerving expense for the pop star, whose assets are estimated at around $100 million, the fact that it covers just three months of her conservatorship is probably not lost on Britney, who continues to pull her life together. On Wednesday evening, April 16, Britney was seen visiting a recording studio, for the third day in a row, suggesting that a professional comeback is on the cards. She has also been working out regularly. More gratifying than her visits to the studio and gym is the quite time she has been spending at home, some of it with her toddlers.

Big Payday for Lawyers in Britney Spears Case

A Los Angeles court on Thursday ordered payment of nearly $400,000 to the numerous lawyers involved in Britney Spears's affairs – with the pop star footing the bill. All the attorneys have been working on the case for less than three months. Samuel Ingham, Spears's court-appointed attorney, will continue to receive $10,000 a week, Commissioner Reva Goetz ruled.Andrew Wallet, the co-conservator of Spears's finances, will receive an advance of $100,000. (Wallet had not been paid since becoming involved last February.). The firm which won Jamie Spears control of his daughter's affairs will also be advanced $175,000, and a lawyer representing Britney's brother Bryan Spears will get $22,500, while Stacy Phillips, Britney's new divorce lawyer, will receive $75,000. The singer's father and Wallet remain in control of her life until a July 31 hearing.

Ex-Manager: Britney Spears Returns to Recording Studio

Britney Spears returned to the recording studio this week with former manager Larry Rudolph.
"We went into the studio, but it was just for fun – nothing more," Rudolph tells Usmagazine.com of their visits to a studio in Burbank, CA Monday and Tuesday.
Spears, 26, has not been in a recording studio for the past year, a source tells Us.
"She just wanted to go in and tinker around," the source says. "She sat at a piano and got some ideas. She played the piano and sang a bit. She enjoyed herself."
Spears played old and new tunes, the source says, adding, "she wanted to go in as a way to get her creativity going. It was a really positive experience for her."
Spears and Rudolph, who produces MTV's Rock the Cradle, "are not at the stage where they are talking business yet," nor is this studio visit the start of a new project, the source says.
Earlier this month, Rudolph – who is credited for discovering Spears and managing her career for 9 years – told Us that she is on the "right path."

Miley Cyrus: "She's So Talented, And Stinkin' Genius"

DJ: "A lot of people are saying you could be the next Britney Spears. Now what are you going to do differently so that in 10 years we're not going to be saying oh that Miley Ray Cyrus... she's crazy!"
Miley Cyrus: "Well for me it's like... At first when people, you know say that to me I actually have to, I take that as a compliment because she's so talented, and stinkin' genius, and right now she's just at a hard time. But I think she's gonna get through it and I think it's gonna be such a big triumph at the end when everyone sees her come back, and that's gonna be... I'm gonna be so proud of her because I feel to me that they're like family like that family is like family just because I've spent so much time praying for them, and I've talked to like... Jamie and I just feel like they're gonna come out and they're just gonna be ya know amazing and you know for me I think just to keep positive, cause that's basically with anything I say I always try to come out with a positive ending."
DJ: "Well the Spears family is under the microscope right now especially with Jamie Lynn being an expecting mother. How is the support with her family and what not? And are you giving your support to Jamie Lynn?"
Miley Cyrus: "Yeah. Like, they're our friends and there are so many people that have stepped away. And we're the ones that have gotten closer and closer through this. And that's what they need more than anything. And they continually think that they're being so supportive, cause no one else is and that's what I think it means more than anything, especially for Britney, because she needs someone that's more supportive for her."

Still No Sam Lutfi!

When Britney Spears’ former (and perhaps current) manager Larry Rudolph said that she was poised for a comeback, he wasn’t kidding.

The “Piece of Me” songstress was spotted toning her body at a private training session at Los Angeles health club Bally’s Total Fitness.
And afterwards, Miss Spears (for the third day in a row) headed over to Glenwood Place Recording Studio, accompanied by Rudolph.

It seems that without Sam Lutfi around, Brit has been more apt to get back on her feet and get her life together. And yesterday, a Los Angeles judge extended the restraining order against Lutfi until July 31st.

With Sam out of the picture, and Britney’s father and lawyer in control of her affairs, we just may see an amazing comeback sooner than later.

Brit May Club for a Living

Sources tell TMZ Britney Spears is in negotiation with Bally Total Fitness to be a frontwoman for the company -- and backwoman, too!

Here's what we know. Brit's parents have both been talking to Bally about making a deal. Daddy Jamie has the power as co-conservator to make it happen. It all happened because Larry Rudolph, who is coming back to manage the Britster, has a close friendship with John Wildman, the Chief Marketing Officer of Bally.

During the negotiations, Brit has been going to the club at least once a day and up to as many as three times a day. She's training with two of the company's top personal trainers -- we're guessing one for the front and one for the back. She's also working with the company's nutritionist, who has put Britney on five to six quality meals a day. No Taco Bell, no Fanta ... life can really suck.

As of now, there is no deal -- just negotiations. We're told she isn't getting any money yet, but she's working out for free. As a company insider put it to us, "We're more interested in Britney Spears' health than her $19.

RUDOLPH DENIES PLOTTING SPEARS' COMEBACK

BRITNEY SPEARS' former manager LARRY RUDOLPH has dismissed rumours the star is recording a new LP under his supervision - insisting their recent trip to a studio together was "just for fun".Rudolph, who is widely credited with discovering the singer when she was just 15, was reportedly dismissed as her manager after he joined forces with her parents and staged an intervention to get Spears to enter rehab at the beginning of last year (07).But the svengali recently sparked rumours he has reconciled with Spears by declaring she is set to make a triumphant comeback to the music scene. And the pair fuelled speculation about their reunion when they were seen entering a Los Angeles recording studio together earlier this week (beg14Apr08).But Rudolph has denied they are working on a new project together. He tells Usmagazine.com, "We went into the studio, but it was just for fun - nothing more."A source confirms to the publication, "She just wanted to go in and tinker (play) around. Kathy Griffin Works on Britney Spears Love Life

Is Kathy Griffin serious? Even though Britney Spears' relationship with photographer Adnan Ghalib has been on and off many times, and now Kathy Griffin confirms to In Touch Weekly that the former couple is still in contact. Kathy, who recently spent time with the British paparazzo for a hotly anticipated episode of her hit show My Life on the D-List, tells In Touch that it’s not over yet."As far as I know, Britney is still attracted to him,” she says. The revelation is surprising since the pair has not been spotted publicly together since her father, Jamie Spears, took control of her life weeks ago. Kathy says she was shocked by “the astonishing number of calls Adnan took from a ‘private caller’ whose name rhymes with Prlitney Splears,” during the afternoon they spent together shopping at Victoria’s Secret. Hmm, this all smells a little like "Pop Fiction".But Britney, 26, has been keeping her options open, too, since she’s been getting close to ex-husband Kevin Federline lately. In an unrelated incident, Adnan, 35, was reportedly treated by medics on the evening of April 12 after he was said to have sustained a knife wound to his arm, a black eye and facial lacerations. According to a report, Adnan claims he doesn’t know who attacked him but is “doing okay.” Britney and Adnan reportedly called it quits in March. “He drives like a maniac,” Kathy says of Adnan, and jokes, “I took a Dramamine!” Source - National Ledger

Britney Pal Sam Lutfi Agrees to Stay Away – Again

Britney Spears's former confidante, Sam Lutfi, has agreed to stay away from the pop star through July 31, it was revealed at a Los Angeles court Wednesday. A restraining order was slapped on Lutfi in February, after Spears's mother accused him of drugging Britney, 26. Keep-away orders can be extended to up to five years, legal experts say. Meanwhile, the singer's father and a lawyer remain in legal control over her affairs. Their conservatorship will be reviewed by the court on July 31 – but it's expected their control will be extended. Another hearing regarding Spears's estate is set for Thursday.Source: People

Britney Hits the Studio "Just for Fun"

Britney Spears has apparently decided her body wasn't the only thing in need of a little fine-tuning. E! News has confirmed that the "Gimme More" singer is taking voice lessons and has spent the last two days in a Burbank, Calif., recording studio to work on getting her voice back into fighting shape. Spears, whose 2008 didn't exactly get off on the right foot, careerwise, is not working on anything official, a source close to the 26-year-old comeback kid told E! News, but instead is just looking to enjoy herself right now. "She's doing it just for fun," the source said. "She's just sitting at the piano, singing a little. She's just in there to have some fun. It may lead to something down the road, but right now this is just part of her staying on the right track." Spears is also said to be spending time under the tutelage of voice coach Ron Anderson, who, according to his professional website, has worked with the likes of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis, Chris Daughtry, Avril Lavigne, Björk, Paris Hilton, Paula Abdul, Pink, Shania Twain, Usher and Tori Amos, among others. Blackout, Spears' fifth studio album and her first in four years, was released in October and sold 290,000 copies its first week out of the gate to land at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the first time one of her studio efforts didn't debut at No. 1.

Britney Court Update!

Britney Spears' former manager and friend Sam Lutfi just told X17 that he will not be appearing in court today for a hearing regarding the temporary restraining order filed against him by Spears' parents.
The restraining order will be voluntarily extended, and Lutfi will not be challenging it. Lutfi's spokesperson Michael Sands said, "Sam and the family are communicating and cooperating, trying to do what's best for Britney...to the best of my knowledge the case has been continued."
Britney Spears' legal team is scheduled to appear in court at 1:30PM PST today for the hearing. Jamie and Lynne Spears originally filed the temporary restraining order against Lutfi on their daughter's behalf on February 1, 2008. When the restraining order was filed, Lynne Spears swore in a written declaration that Lutfi was drugging her daughter, among other allegations.

Sam Lutfi: I'm "Cooperating" With Britney Spears' Family

Sam Lutfi says he is on Britney Spears' side as he fights against an extension of a restraining order from her family."Sam and the family are communicating and cooperating trying to do whats best for Britney," Lutfi's spokesman, Michael Sands, said in a statement to Us Weekly. In fact, Lutfi agreed to stay away from the singer through July, court sources told TMZ.com.On Wednesday, the commissioner in the case ruled in favor of Lutfi's request that a judge take over the hearing concerning the extension of the restraining order.Lawyers were in attendance but neither Lutfi nor a member of the Spears family appeared at court.Lutfi has been forbidden from going within 250 yards of Spears and her home since February. In a six-page declaration released in February, Lynne Spears accused Lutfi of grinding up Risperdal, a sleeping medication, and Seroquel, an anti-psychotic drug prescribed to treat bipolar disorder, and giving them to Britney.Lutfi himself admitted in an Us Weekly cover story that he had given Britney "a handful of pills" to help her sleep. Britney, Lutfi told Us Weekly, agreed that the meds were helping her sleep.Spears, meanwhile, returned to the recording studio.-HHE/BritneyOverdose
