Britney Will Sing "Twinkle, Twinkle" to the Kids
TMZ has more details on what Britney Spears got in court today. As we first reported, Brit will get three days of supervised visitation per week. Sources tell us within a month she will also have overnight visitation with her kids.We're told Commish Scott Gordon was extremely impressed with Brit's progress today. It was a different story a few months back when she completely pissed him off. The Commish was somewhat blown away by her progress.The goal, we're told, is to ramp it up over the next few months so that Brit gets 50/50 custody, right back where she started from.Stay tuned.

Britney Relaxes at Alicia Keys Concert in L.A.
Britney Spears blew off a little pre-courtroom steam Monday at the Alicia Keys concert. Expected to attend a Tuesday progress review hearing in Los Angeles family court with her ex, Kevin Federline, Spears decided to have a little fun first. The singer arrived at the Staples Center at 8:30 p.m. with mom Lynne, her assistant, and two bodyguards and parked in an underground VIP parking lot to avoid photographers. There was no sign of sister Jamie Lynn Spears, who just celebrated her baby shower with her big sis in Kentwood, La., last weekend. Spears – who according to one onlooker looked pretty and seemed psyched to be there – missed the opening act, Ne-Yo, but got there in time to clap when Keys took the stage and to get up and bop to the tunes.

Britney Spears will get more time with her sons during visitation, a court ruled Tuesday. "We are so pleased with Britney's progress, and we are appreciative of the court's recognition of this progress," Spears's parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, said in statement after a hearing attended by the pop star and her ex-husband Kevin Federline. It was not clear how much more time Spears was granted. Federline's attorney characterized the court order as "an expansion of time." "It is a cautious step, but a step forward nonetheless," said lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan. "We are seeing signs of [Britney's] progress, and consistency over time is something welcome by Kevin ... The children are doing great."Spears, with lawyer Blair Berk and both of her parents, smiled as she left the courtroom and headed for her SUV, but did not talk to the press. Earlier, during a break in the hearing, the singer was seen looking distraught. However, later she smiled and held her mother's hand as she went back into the courtroom. Britney Gets More Time With the Lil Ones!
Britney Spears has gained more visitation of her two young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James -- though how much more is unclear.
K-Fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said after the court hearing today that he wouldn't talk about the custodial timeshare between Brit and K-Fed -- except to say that it is "more than it has been." Kaplan said the modifications to custody made today will be made "in the near future" and Kevin's "goal and his hope is his children will have the benefit of having two parents participating actively in their lives."Jamie and Lynne Spears released a statement that says they were "so pleased with Britney's progress" and "very appreciative" of the court's recognition of her progress.Both parties will be back in court on July 15

UPDATE: Around 10:45am PT, a spokesperson for the court told reporters that today's hearing is currently on an extended break while both parties discuss a compromise — though he would not elaborate on what exactly they were considering compromising over.Likely, they are hammering out a deal for prolonged, or perhaps even overnight, visitation for Britney with her two sons.While the parties involved meet in rooms separate from the courtroom, Commissioner Gordon has moved on to hearing matters in other cases. When Britney Spears and her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, walk into the courtroom tomorrow, it will mark the first time in more than half a year that both parents of little Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline have sat before Commissioner Scott Gordon in their seemingly neverending custoday battle.Britney did make two aborted attempts to attend hearings before being remanded to psychiatric care — and the supervision of her father — several months ago.Sources close to the case reveal to OK! that the results are a "mixed bag" — Brit-Brit has finally learned how to make her boys the focus of her attention. But, says the source, doctors feel she still has mental issues to contend with.The evaluation, which lawyers for both sides of the case have had for two week, and which will almost certainly be discussed in a closed court, exists to aid Commissioner Gordon in ruling on Britney's requests for more visits and possible overnight stays with her young sons. Currently, the 26-year-old singer has no formal custody, though she does enjoy several, supervised, multiple-hour visits during the week. K-Fed's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, tells OK! that his client is fine with more visits — but not right away. "She needs to prove herself over time," he explains. "We need to see that there is consistency and stablility over a substantial amount of time, a slow ramping-up and not a spike." Kaplan does commend Brit's father Jamie Spears for the work he's done in stabilizing his daughter. However, he and Kevin would like to see more than two months of good behavior before agreeing to alter their current set-up in any substantial way.Britney's father and lawyers remain in legal control of her personal and financial affairs until an evaluation hearing on July 31. The guests were warned ahead of time not to bring up any of Britney's antics -- in other words, no head-shaving jokes! The shower was complete with Southern style food, including a family fav, mac and cheese. Jamie Lynn also opened presents -- the best being a camouflaged hunting gear onesie. Daddy's little redneck? Yep, all is back to normal at the old Spears shack.

It was a family affair Saturday as mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears was feted with an intimate baby shower in Kentwood, La. About 30 guests were invited – including big sis Britney – to Kentwood for a ladies-only, catered celebration for the 17-year-old at the family's Serenity mansion. (Spears hadn't been back to her hometown since her aunt's funeral early last year.) "Jamie Lynn opened every gift," says a source, adding that mom Lynne and fiancé Casey Aldridge's mother lent a hand. "We all sat in a circle and she opened gifts and thanked every person. Britney Spears headed back home to spend some quality time with her family in Kentwood, Louisiana over the weekend.
And the Gimme More singer was spotted relaxing on the patio yesterday afternoon during a day full of baby shower activities for pregnant 17-year-old sister Jamie Lynn.
Britney flew into Kentwood aboard a private jet on Friday (May 2), with her father/co-conservator Jamie Spears by her side - making it the first venture back home since her aunt’s death in early 2007.
From here, reports tell that Spears “is expected to be in LA on Tuesday to attend the next court hearing in her child custody dispute with former husband Kevin Federline on May 6.”

J.Que: When I tell you she was the best – minus she got there a little late. She did show up a little late. But when she showed up, I think it caught both of us off guard ‘cause Zeke and I flew to New York to record the record on this.
And I think it caught both of us off guard because, when I tell you when she walked in the booth she stayed in the booth until the sun came up.
Ezekiel: Yeah she was there. She almost outlasted me, I don’t know.
J.Que: It was absolutely nuts, and she took directions very well. I agree like I don’t know what I was expecting because we went in to cut that record the day after she filed divorce from Kevin.
Ezekiel: Right.
J.Que: So we were expecting all kind of nonsense and she was super professional and when she got in the booth, she was super-efficient.

This is Brit's first trip back to her hometown since last fall, when she became embroiled in her current—and, can you believe it, increasingly less bizarre—custody battle.
Which, as it's so wont to do, will require Britney's presence back in Los Angeles on Tuesday, when she's expected to attend the latest custody hearing in this ongoing process, this one to address the results of a court-ordered 730 psych evaluation.

When Britney Spears' father, Jamie, was named her co-conservator on February 1, he took over her financial affairs. And there have been various reports that have estimated how much money Britney Spears has lost due to her wild behavior and some staggering amounts have been reported. Many are wondering how much money her little sister Jamie Lynn Spears will lose due to her teen pregnancy but Jamie Lynn can't touch Britney's earning yet and she certainly can't touch her losses.

The magazine is reporting this week that after going through her books, Jamie must have learned just how much of a toll Britney’s crazy behavior, which started in February 2007 when she shaved her head, has had on her bank account - she's lost nearly $61 million, the magazine claims. "It's staggering how much money has been used up,” a family friend says.

The report notes that in addition to the enormous tab for legal bills, rehab and psychiatric care, Britney’s inability to work has cost her a fortune. “By not touring for her last album [Blackout], she lost out on $50 million,” estimates Robert Bianchi, an LA-based CPA who isn’t an accountant for Britney. Jamie hired his own accountants to sort out the money mess and bring an end to the 26-year-old’s excessive spending. “It’s been quite a challenge getting things under control,” the insider says. Luckily, as Britney’s mental health improves, so does her bottom line. “She’s spending about a fifth of what she used to,” the insider adds.
