Britney Spears' TV Wardrobe Up for Sale

LOS ANGELES (AP)
— It seems almost everybody wants a piece of Britney Spears, and at least six pieces are officially for sale.
Spears' wardrobe from her guest-starring stint on CBS' "How I Met Your Mother" will be sold at an online auction to benefit the Natural Resources Defense Council, an environmental organization.
The weeklong auction begins Monday night, just after the episode featuring the pop star is set to air. Spears plays a flirty receptionist who falls for show's main character.
A half-dozen Spears-worn items will be available, including a navy print Juicy Couture dress, a yellow Nannette Lepore dress and a cream Nannette Lepore cardigan with blue flower details.
CBS and 20th Century Fox Television, which produces the show, are sponsoring the auction.

Britney's Bro Tackles the Trust Factor

Bryan Spears wants to know exactly what he's gotten himself into.
Britney Spear's 30-year-old brother and Ivan Taback, the attorney sharing cotrustee duties of Britney's SJB account, have filed a motion seeking to confirm that her living trust also owns the majority of the 26-year-old's various companies.
Taback helped Britney establish her trust in 2004, appointing her as the sole trustee, but in light of the pop star's recent hospitalization and loss of control of her estimated $100 million fortune to a conservatorship, a court commissioner named the lawyer and Bryan cotrustees.
A hearing is scheduled for Apr. 17. If Los Angeles Supreme Court Commissioner Reva Goetz approves their request, the SJB trust will be the confirmed owner of, among other Brit-centric companies, Britney Brands Inc., Britney Films Ltd., Britney Online Inc., Britney Television LLC and Fairy Zone Productions. (Britney Touring Inc., however, has already been turned over to father Jamie Spears as part of his responsibilities as coconservator, duties he shares with attorney Andrew Wallet.)
The trust already holds most of her financial assets, including hefty bank and brokerage accounts, but her interest in her companies was not automatically transferred, according to court documents filed Monday.
Bryan and Taback also state that some of said companies need immediate attending to, whether because they're conducting ongoing business, owe taxes or are parties to litigation, and ownership needs to be established.
Taback claims that he and his fellow trustee are well within their rights to petition for the transfer.
In 2004, "Britney confirmed to me her desire that all of her material financial assets, including…her right title and interest in and to all legal entities which she then owned, be transferred and vested in the trust," the attorney stated in a declaration included with Monday's filing.
Meanwhile, Jamie Spears' temporary conservatorship has been extended until at least July 31. He has been granted a $2,500 weekly allowance from his daughter's estate, plus a car allowance, while Britney gets $1,500 a week for "walking around" money, which does not have to be used for legal fees or other major bills.

Britney Driving Charges Not Dropped

Things may be looking up in Britney Spears' personal life, but her legal woos are far from over. Prosecutors refused to drop driving without a license charges against Spears. "She seems to be getting her life together. She has nothing on her record other than the infraction-type tickets we all get," said Spears lawyer Charlie Unger. But Los Angeles city attorney Michael Amerian isn't having it with Spears. He said her hit-and-run charge was already dropped so these charges are "the fairest way to treat her," Amerian continued, "[We're] not affected by her celebrity status." Driving without a license charges are sooooo boring. We want something juicier, like a new hookup or something. The celebrity world has been so boring without Britney lately. Her cameo on 'How I Met Your Mother' has been the highlight of our week.

Is The Business Of Britney In A Recession?

Britney Spears’ second release from the psych ward was a gold mine for the paparazzi.
Between tabloids, her recording career and her life in general, the revenue generated from all things Britney brought in up to $120 million in the past year. But now that Britney is staying home, is the business of Britney in a recession?
"Since her father has her under his control, we certainly haven't seen the number of photos that we used to see coming in of Britney," X-17 co-owner Brandy Navarre told Access Hollywood. "The subject of the photo is just not as interesting as it once was, so the prices do go down."
X-17 saw a 10 percent increase in overall profits with the help of exclusive photos like bald Britney, which made them a half-million dollars.
Now, with the pop star’s recent cleaned-up behavior, the amount of Britney pictures are way down – from more than 1,000 a day to a couple hundred, forcing the photo agency to change focus.
"It’s a different game now," Navarre explained. "It's a different challenge. We're moving on to other celebrities like Brad [Pitt] and Angelina [Jolie and] Jamie Lynn Spears. We’ve moved on to Britney’s sister."
Needles to say, Britney has shifted in priority.
"We had as many as maybe10 photographers chasing after her. Now we have probably three or four photographers working on her at any given time," she said.
And Spears’ gated community is empty these days. The main road once littered with paparazzi is a much different scene now that Britney’s dad, Jamie, has taken charge.
"After he took over the conservatorship, it got really, really slow for us," Britney’s trusted paparazzo friend Felipe said.
He was scheduled to follow Britney daily, from 4 PM to 4 AM, but has since undergone a dramatic shift change.
"She's not going out at night as much as she used to … you know I started working the daytime between 11 AM to 11 PM," he said.
OK! magazine features editor Rob Chilton has noticed the change in his magazine’s focus, as well.
"There are fewer shots now of Britney doing crazy things," Chilton told Access. "Now we're seeing a more stable, more calm Britney so there are less shocking stories about Britney these days."
As for Us Weekly, Britney was only on the cover once in the last six weeks, a far cry from last September through mid-February. Then, around the time of her custody battle and hospitalizations, Britney was Us Weekly's hot topic in 23 out of 24 issues.
And with no Britney scandal to report, this week’s tabs feature Britney-free covers.
But there is proof that Spears still sells. TV Guide put "Tudors" star Jonathan Rhys-Meyers on the cover of the new issue mailed to subscribers, but chose to put Britney on the cover of the issue available on newsstands in an attempt to boost sales.
"People want to read about Britney," Chilton said. "There is still that fascination with her whether it's good or bad."

Britney Spears Has 'Great Comic Timing,' Say The Stars Of 'How I Met Your Mother'

Alyson Hannigan and Jason Segel tell TV Guide that the pop star impressed them as a 'spazzy' receptionist with a crush on Ted.When you first see Britney Spears, she'll be a nerd, but just wait — as her episode of "How I Met Your Mother" goes on, she'll gradually become more like the sex symbol we used to know and love. At least, as much as a dermatologist's receptionist can be.In the episode, called "Ten Sessions," Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) wants to get an embarrassing butterfly tattoo removed, and he wants to see if his dermatologist, Dr. Stella Zinman (played by "Scrubs" star Sarah Chalke), will fall for him in the process — but he hooks Spears' character Abby instead, without realizing it. Abby starts off being mousy, wearing glasses and cardigans, but she transforms herself to win over Ted."She has a total spazzy crush on Ted," show co-creator Craig Thomas told TV Guide. As Ted's sessions continue, so do Abby's attempts to get his attention with sexier hairdos and clothing, and frequent nervous laughter. In a video clip from the episode, Ted asks to see the doctor."I'll let her know," Abby responds but continues to stare longingly at him, without picking up the phone."Telepathically?" he asks."That's funny!" she laughs awkwardly. "Ha! That's funny, smart and great!" By his next appointment, Abby is reading the book, "The Power of Me," that he had brought with him during his last session. She notices he's starting to grow a mustache, and comments, "Love the 'stache! You look like a young Tom Selleck, only a million times handsomer." Without taking her eyes off him, she calls her boss and says, "Dr. Zinman, Magnum's here to see you." After a beat, she tells Ted, "Just kidding.""[Spears] was so funny, and she already had her character down pat," Alyson Hannigan, who plays Lily on the show, told TV Guide. "I had no idea she had such great comic timing."Perhaps the pop star hasn't forgotten what she learned mixing sketch comedy with song and dance on "The Mickey Mouse Club." Jason Segel, who plays Marshall on the show, told TV Guide that Spears contributed to the episode's dialogue with a few improvised lines that were "really good.""She came up with stuff that had everyone laughing," Segel said. "She's definitely a comedian."So, with such approval from the cast, could Spears be back for another appearance? After all, the promo for the episode shows her in a conversation with Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), which seems to reveal that she might have moved on to Ted's friend, since she asks him, "Can we have sex and then go shopping?""The episode ends on a funny note that I won't give away," Thomas said. "But it definitely leaves it open for her to come back." Source: MTV

Dad will force Brit to quit LA

Troubled BRITNEY SPEARS’ family are to force her to quit LA and return to Louisiana.
Her dad JAMIE SPEARS, who was recently granted control of her affairs, plans to take her back to the family home away from “bad influences”.
He will file a court request to get Britney, 26, away from the clubs, drugs — and cheating ex-lover ADNAN GHALIB.
A Spears family source said: “Britney has been feeling lonely and isolated since her dad has taken control of her life.
“He hopes to take her back to Louisiana where she will be surrounded by her family. Jamie also hopes it will give her the chance to mend her troubled relationship with her mum and her more recent rift with her pregnant sister.
“And he hopes to keep her away from the negative LA scene and people who’ve been using her.”
In recent weeks the star has made a good recovery. She has remained off drugs and has been working on her next music video.
But her affairs will still be run by her dad and she is unable to see former manager SAM LUFTI who has been issued with a restraining order.
Britney still faces a driving without a licence charge in LA after being nabbed last August.

Paparazzo Sues X17 Agency After Alleged Assault While Covering Britney Spears

Pap claims three X17 photographers beat him 'almost to death'; agency owners say photographers are not under contract. If you're a paparazzo, covering Britney Spears can be a dangerous job — and not just because she might run over your foot with her car. A photographer who follows the singer filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles on Wednesday against photo agency X17, claiming three of the company's photographers severely beat him following a chase in which he had gained the lead. Alison Silva told MTV News that on March 5, he had parked one block away from Spears' home when three X17 photographers — whom he identified as Thomas Madiana, Carlos Madiana and Max Rinadelle — allegedly approached him and said, "You should not be here. Only X17 gets these shots." Silva claims that one of the photographers punched him and knocked him to the ground, then the three kicked him to the point where he passed out. When he came to, he claims they were kicking him in the face. "I didn't know what was going on," he said. Three witnesses called 911, and Silva was taken by ambulance to the emergency room with a police escort, according to the police report. One of the witnesses told police officers that he heard one of the attackers say, "Let's go f--- him up, there are 10 of us here," saw one of the attackers go get a metal tube from his car for that purpose, and heard another attacker say, "Don't kill him! Don't kill him!", according to the report. At Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, California, Silva was treated for blunt head trauma and a broken nose, according to the medical report. Silva said his injuries temporarily rendered him unable to drive or operate a camera. "They kicked and punched me almost to death," Silva said. "I was beat up for doing my job. Most people think, 'Oh, he's just a paparazzo, he's nothing.' But this is not nothing. This is a big business, and if it weren't for people like me, those pictures wouldn't be in the magazines you enjoy." Silva asks for unspecified general and punitive damages in his suit, in which he accuses X17 of battery; assault; false imprisonment; intentional infliction of emotional distress; negligent infliction of emotional distress; negligence; and negligent training, supervision and retention of unfit employees. "They're going to say the claims are bogus," Silva's attorney, Joseph Farzam, told MTV News. "But my client has a claim. All it takes is for someone to take a look at the photos of his broken nose, blue eyes, bloody eyes, and you can see that he was injured. Someone has to be held responsible." Silva said that police told him the photographers who allegedly attacked him will turn themselves in to authorities on Monday, otherwise warrants will be issued for their arrest. The Los Angeles Police Department's investigating officer had not confirmed that information at press time; an LAPD representative would only confirm that a separate criminal investigation is ongoing. Reached for comment by MTV News, X17 co-owners Francois and Brandy Navarre initially declined comment because they have not been served with the suit, but when asked about the police matter, they said that the photographers are not employees, but freelancers, and therefore are not under contract. "I don't think the suit against us will hold up," Brandy said. "They give me their pictures but whatever they do on their own is their own business," Francois said. Silva also has a still-pending $25,000 complaint against Keanu Reeves, whom he sued for negligence in November, claiming the actor struck Silva with his vehicle in March 2007, according to court documents. Silva told MTV News he suffered a serious injury to his left wrist, for which he's had one surgery and was scheduled for a second surgery next week. Silva said he's postponing that surgery in light of recent events. Source:MTV

Jamie Lynn Spears Follows Britney Spears Lead: Gets Cozy With Paparazzi

This might be dangerous. With less than three months left before she becomes a mom, Jamie Lynn Spears is behaving like a normal teenager shopping, having fun and acting like anything but the country's most famous pregnant 16-year-old! That part is fine, it's good to see her outside of the compound every now and again. But this is a bit scary as she might just be following her big sister Britney Spears lead as she is getting cozy and even joking around with the paparazzi who have invaded her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, a report from OK! Magazine details.Britney really began to spiral out of control when she went from a subject of the paparazzi to making friends with the photographers that stalk her. She would later invite some of them into her home and even began a relationship with Adnan Ghalib, some random married snapper that worked his way into Britney's life.Jamie Lynn wouldn't make that mistake, would she? Right after her pregnancy announcement, Jamie Lynn was rarely spotted outside of her home. But it appears that she now has a bit of cabin fever as now she is out shopping and joking with her new pals nearly every day.

Jack LaLanne to Britney Spears: Shape Up!

The godfather of physical fitness has some fatherly advice for Britney Spears: Her life is up to her. "I feel sorry for her," Jack LaLanne, at 93 still the poster boy for vitality, tells PEOPLE. "She has to develop pride and discipline in herself." That includes taking the lollipop out of her mouth. To LaLanne, sugar is toxic. "She needs to put the right fuel in the machine," he says. "No wonder she feels the way she does. Look at what she putting into herself." (Don't get him started talking about cigarettes.)LaLanne also views Spears's troubles as part of a larger problem in America, where physical fitness – which is keyed to mental and emotional fitness – has become a low priority. "It's got to start with young kids," says LaLanne, whose every sentence seems to be part of a pep talk. Fear of Success 'Sickening'With so many young stars checking in and out of rehab, "It's sickening," says LaLanne. "These kids can't stand success. They've lost their pride. Anything that happens to you, good or bad, you make it happen." In particular, he decries the practice of laying blame elsewhere for bad feelings inside – especially when the finger automatically gets pointed at parents. "The only thing we can blame our parents for is bone structure and the color of our hair," says LaLanne. "The rest is up to us." LaLanne, who lives in scenic Morro Bay, Calif., is on a national tour for his new book, co-authored with retirement-financial advisor Matthew J. Rettick, Fiscal Fitness. "Because we're now living so long," Rettick told PEOPLE at a New York cocktail party for the book – LaLanne didn't imbibe, though he did say he and wife Elaine drink wine at dinner – "We need to properly prepare early on so we can afford it." With a reputed fortune of $100 million, Spears might also benefit by listening up. Source:People

Britney Spears Looking to Get Back Together With Kevin Federline?

Was Kevin Federline the rock of the life of Britney Spears? She certainly has fallen long and hard since the split and her dad may have noticed. According to a report from Star magazine dad Jamie may be ready to play matchmaker. To him, the only thing left to make Britney’s recovery complete is to reunite her with the father of her two sons, Kevin Federline, and Star has learned that he’s already laid down plans to make it happen. The magazine reports that earlier this month Jamie took his former son-in-law golfing in L.A. and suggested that perhaps Kevin, not his bodyguard, eventually be the one to drop off Sean and Jayden for visits with Britney. And Kevin was open to the idea! According to the source, “Kevin even admitted to Jamie that he still loves Britney.”The magazine notes that for a reconciliation to happen, Britney will have to work hard. “Kevin would definitely take her back, but she will have to stay on track for a while,” says a family friend. “She was the love of his life, and he’ll never get over that.”And for Britney, the feeling is mutual. Even though she’s had a number of flings since she and Kevin split – including one with Adnan Ghalib, whom she’s been seeing less of – her heart has always remained with Kevin, says a family source. “In the past, she has called him, crying and pleading with him to take her back, but she was always so messed up.”Source:NationalLedger

Alicia Silverstone: Holding A Grudge Against Britney?

When Alicia Silverstone backed out of an appearance as a doctor on How I Met Your Mother, it was generally assumed she didn't want to be upstaged by fellow guest star Britney Spears. But the truth is a bit more complicated! Alicia, 31, has disliked the back-on-track pop star for nearly a decade — ever since she tried to get backstage at a 1999 Baby One More Time concert, a source tells Star."Britney had her security toss Alicia and her friends out. Alicia was totally embarrassed and still gets mad when she remembers. There is no way she would work with Britney." Source:StarMagazine
