Britney goes from meltdown to amazing comeback

Smiling and looking tanned and relaxed - Britney Spears is back to her best.Gone are the blank eyes, stripper outfits and erratic car rides round LA - the fallen pop princess is finally back in the driving seat.Looking happy and healthy, the star is clearly determined to get her career back on track.Pounding the treadmill every day at Bally Total Fitness Gym, the 26-year-old is still carrying a few pounds, but now she looks toned.Former manager Larry Rudolph is telling people: "She's in great shape. She could end up having the biggest comeback in history."Brit's new single Break The Ice reached number 15 in the UK charts, while her latest album, Blackout, has sold over two million copies worldwide. And now Madonna's revealed she is a fan. "I love Britney's new album," she said. "I work out to it."And it's not just Brit's career that's on the up. On Tuesday the singer's legal team will go to court to fight for greater visiting rights to the two young sons she lost custody of to ex-husband Kevin Federline. It's all a far cry from being the world's most public celebrity burn-out case when she was hospitalised twice this year and arrested. She was finally taken into psychiatric care when she refused to hand Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, 19 months, to police. The bitter custody battle for her boys has driven Britney to ever more bizarre behaviour. Her appearance at the MTV Video Awards was another low. Dressed like a lap-dancer in black sequinned bikini, a flabby Britney fluffed her dance steps and forgot the words. Finally, after being called "a danger to herself", Britney saw the light. Her parents flew in to look after her, and with Rudolph took out a restraining order on manager Sam Lutfi - who's accused of manipulating the singer. The reconciliation with Rudolph may be crucial to her rehabilitation. It was his guiding hand that make Baby One More Time a global hit.Rudolph said this week: "Everybody wants to see the world's greatest entertainer back on stage."And influential LA gossip columnist Perez Hilton declared in typically grandiose style: "She is reborn!"Source: The Mirror

Britney Spears to go head to head with Whitney Houston in album charts

Britney Spears is set to go head to head with Whitney Houston in the Christmas album charts after impressing label bosses with demos from recent studio work.
Spears’ last album, Blackout, received a lukewarm response; and bosses at her record company feared the troubled singer had blown it.
But now, the 26-year-old is being lined-up to “thrash” pop’s ultimate fallen diva with a new album which is reportedly due for release later this year.
A source said: “Britney has been on fire in the studio of late.
“During recording sessions for the last album she was consumed by her chaotic private life.
“But she is determined to make a triumphant comeback. Top brass have been amazed by the quality of tracks they’ve heard.
“Whitney is set for another relaunch at the same time later in the year. They’re determined Brit will come out on top.”
Houston — whose last album of original material was released in 2002 — appears to have conquered her drugs demons; and has lined up some top talent to help her on her comeback quest.
Black Eyed Peas star Will-i-am, R. Kelly, and John Legend have all written tracks for Whitney, and her next single will be a collaboration with Akon.

Britney Spears thinking of buying $5.96 million mansion

Troubled Britney Spears is reportedly planning to buy a $5.96 million mansion in Encino, Los Angeles.
The ‘Toxic’ singer — whose visitation rights to her two sons was recently extended — viewed the 7,300 sq ft, five-bedroom, six-bathroom property on Wednesday.
The mansion — which is a stone’s throw away from her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s house in Tarzana — boasts vaulted ceilings, fireplaces, fountains, a spiral staircase, a Jacuzzi, a swimming pool with a spa, an indoor and outdoor dining room, a wine cellar, a family room and a designer kitchen complete with state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances.
Britney was recently criticized after she allegedly trashed the $35,000-a-month mansion she rented in Malibu, California.
It was claimed Britney never lived in the mansion, but held parties there, which resulted in massive damage.
A source said: “The house was left a wreck. Cigarette burns and cigarette butts were everywhere - and empty bottles of wine were strewed about the place.
“Most of the furniture was ruined with stains, tears or nicks. Rotting food was left in the refrigerator. Spilled wine soiled the carpets and floors. No one picked up after Britney’s dogs, and many ‘presents’ of dog poop were left behind for the owners.”
Meanwhile, it has been claimed that Britney has indulged in a series of steamy phone conversations with Kevin Federline.
Britney reportedly called Kevin at 2 a.m, chatted brifely about their sons Preston, 2, and Jayden, 20 months before the tone of the conversation soon changed.
“They have phone sex often — at least once a week,” an insider tells Star magazine. “The one thing those two have in common is their need for sex, and after they get going, there are no holds barred.”

Radiohead Help Britney Spears Overcome Personal Trauma

The singer was pictured leaving a gym in Los Angeles yesterday (May 8th) clutching a copy of the band’s latest album ‘In Rainbows’.According to passers-by the singer was in “good spirits” following her work out - it must have been Radiohead.Earlier this week, Spears was granted more access to her two children, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, by a Los Angeles judge. According to the lawyer for her ex-husband Kevin Federline, Spears had been rewarded for her “progress”."What was a seemingly daily state of extreme flux has been stabilized," Mark Vincent Kaplan said.Perhaps it’s Radiohead who are helping Britney overcome her personal problems, which last year saw her shave her own head in a local hairdresser. Is a collaboration on the cards? What do you think about Britney’s choice of music? Let us know by posting a comment below...

Spears is training 'like an athlete'

Personal trainer Marc Corliss has claimed that Britney Spears is following a fitness regime like "an athlete".Corliss said that the singer has become a regular at Hollywood's Bally's Gym with father Jamie and revealed she has shed 15 pounds in under four weeks."She's hell-bent on getting a rocking midsection again," he told Life & Style. "She's been training hard for the past four weeks, doing about 500 or so abdominal exercises every day. And she's seeing a major difference already."The keep-fit guru described Spears as a "go-getter", who is "super upbeat and fun" to coach. He added: "I'm training her the way I would train an athlete. With her dance background, she's already in better shape than most people."

Britney Spears on Next Week's HIMYM

Neil Patrick Harris and Britney Spears as a couple? It had never crossed our minds, but even we have to admit this is a pretty cute shot.
The pic comes from the May 12 episode of How I Met Your Mother, in which Brit reprises her role as Abby the receptionist.
"I had such a great experience the last time I was on the show that I couldn't wait to come back," says Brit. "I was really looking forward to working with this cast and crew again."
Now if we can just get her to do a duet with Robin Sparkles, that would be golden.

Kevin Loves Britney

The rehabilitation of Britney Spears continues as the singer and her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday with the result being that she is allowed more time with their two young sons. “Kevin loves Britney and he loves his children,” his spokesperson tells In Touch. “I believe he would love to see a situation where the children have the benefit of a mommy and a daddy raising them. I’ve seen him (Kevin) with his children. The love is genuine.” Meanwhile, with the exact details of the change in visitation still sealed, Kevin’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan described the modification as “a cautious step — a step nonetheless. The children are great. We’re going to take it one step at a time.” Britney’s parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, who accompanied her to court, said in a statement: “We are so pleased with Britney’s progress and we’re very appreciative of the court’s recognition of this progress.” She has been seeing the boys, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden, 19 months, but without any overnight visitation rights. Despite today’s decision, Kevin still retains full custody. Britney, 26, wearing a brown polka dot dress and white shawl, arrived at Los Angeles Superior Court for the first time in several months with her powerhouse attorneys Blair Berk and Stacy Phillips. Previous trips to court by Britney have turned into a circus, with her turning tail and leaving after a few minutes. This time, however, an insider reveals to In Touch that she is “calmer and in control.”

In Life & Style now: Britney exclusive: how I got my body back

April 28 was just another day in Britney Spears’ healthy new life. The star, who has recently swapped fast-food runs for daily workouts, hit her regular Bally Total Fitness facility in Studio City, Calif., for an hour-long Spinning class. After the session, Britney stopped to chat with Life & Style. “I’m always happy when I’m done,” she said, before offering some one-on-one insight into her favorite cardio workout — hitting the dance floor. “To me, dancing doesn’t even feel like exercise,” Britney, 26, continued. “I love it.”The gym isn’t the only place where Britney’s getting serious. The former junk-food addict is shaping up in the kitchen, too. “Her eating habits were so bad, and she ate so sporadically, doctors suggested her dad do everything he could to get Britney to eat three times a day,” says a family insider. Britney’s dad, Jamie, has taken the advice one step further and has put Britney on a healthy diet. Some of Brit’s motivation is fueled by wanting to fit into her old clothes, but she’s really focused on regaining her physique to revitalize her career— and benefit her little boys. Says the family insider, “Britney wants to be healthier for Sean Preston and Jayden James,” who are living with their dad, Kevin Federline, full time. “Almost everything she does brings her one step closer to getting her boys back.”

Inside Jamie Lynns Baby Shower

Having relocated to Kentwood for the duration of her pregnancy, Jamie Lynn Spears has been staying away from the press lately - until now!
OK! Magazine spoke to the pregnant teen queen about last weekend's baby shower recently, and Jamie Lynn was only too happy to talk about her gifts, her condition - and, of course, her big sister!
"It was wonderful to be able to spend time with [Britney] and just be girls again," Jamie Lynn said when asked about spending last weekend with her big sister. "We painted our nails and did stupid stuff, and we had our private time too. To be able to be in the privacy of our own home and just be sisters again was wonderful." Of course, the Spears sisters also found some time for a heart-to-heart about motherhood, with Britney stressing to Jamie Lynn that "there are going to be some long nights - but it is completely worth it."
Of course, "privacy" is a relative term - especially when you're in a house with twenty other guests! "There were about 20 or 30 people [at the shower] - to me, it was pretty big," Spears said. "My mom put it all together for me. There were mainly people her age so that way they could get me all the important stuff I need. The people my age, like Sarah and Leah, got me the cute stuff."
And what kind of cute stuff might she have received? "I got adorable clothes," she replied. "I registered for all the necessities. There is a certain type of bottle I use, Dr. Brown's Bottles. You need your travel set and your sling. I got a wonderful sling yesterday. It is adorable, and it will put a baby right to sleep."
Wow, it really sounds like Jamie Lynn's maturing into her new role as a mother! Of course, as she herself admits, she's still got a long way to go - heck, she hasn't even picked out a name yet!
"We want it to be something special," Spears told the mag. "That's something we haven't figured out yet, but I'm thinking hard. I'm working on it. No one has given me any suggestions. I wish they would!"
We'd be happy to help - does anyone have any baby name ideas for Jamie Lynn?

Britney Relaxes at Alicia Keys Concert in L.A.

Britney Spears blew off a little pre-courtroom steam Monday at the Alicia Keys concert. Expected to attend a Tuesday progress review hearing in Los Angeles family court with her ex, Kevin Federline, Spears decided to have a little fun first. The singer arrived at the Staples Center at 8:30 p.m. with mom Lynne, her assistant, and two bodyguards and parked in an underground VIP parking lot to avoid photographers. There was no sign of sister Jamie Lynn Spears, who just celebrated her baby shower with her big sis in Kentwood, La., last weekend. Spears – who according to one onlooker looked pretty and seemed psyched to be there – missed the opening act, Ne-Yo, but got there in time to clap when Keys took the stage and to get up and bop to the tunes.

Britney Spears Gets More Time with Children

Britney Spears will get more time with her sons during visitation, a court ruled Tuesday. "We are so pleased with Britney's progress, and we are appreciative of the court's recognition of this progress," Spears's parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, said in statement after a hearing attended by the pop star and her ex-husband Kevin Federline. It was not clear how much more time Spears was granted. Federline's attorney characterized the court order as "an expansion of time." "It is a cautious step, but a step forward nonetheless," said lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan. "We are seeing signs of [Britney's] progress, and consistency over time is something welcome by Kevin ... The children are doing great."Spears, with lawyer Blair Berk and both of her parents, smiled as she left the courtroom and headed for her SUV, but did not talk to the press. Earlier, during a break in the hearing, the singer was seen looking distraught. However, later she smiled and held her mother's hand as she went back into the courtroom. During the break, Spears and her lawyers, as well as Federline and his attorney, convened to adjacent rooms outside of the courtroom. The hearing began around 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday. Spears, wearing a knee-length brown and white dress, was accompanied by her lawyer and both of her parents. Federline, wearing a tan pinstriped suit, was with Kaplan. Spears has spent the last several months keeping a relatively low profile – and staying out of trouble. The singer was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center's psych ward in January. Her custody arrangement has consisted of only monitored visitation rights with her sons, Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, several times a week – but no overnight privileges. Her father and a lawyer maintain legal control of her affairs until a July 31 hearing. Since her father took control of Spears's life, the singer has been spending more time with her family – including her previously estranged mom. (She recently attended a baby shower for her sister, Jamie Lynn, in Kentwood, La.) Spears has also been hard at work filming her second appearance on How I Met Your Mother, which will air May 12. Britney & Kevin Sworn in by Court

She made it! For the first time in months, sparring exes Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are both actually in a California courtroom to discuss matters in their ongoing custody battle.Britney, looking her best in a brown and white polka-dot dress and straightened blonde locks, waited patiently in a holding area until around 9:37 am PT while Commissioner Scott Gordon dealt with matters in other cases. When their case was finally called, the superstar entered the courtroom with her mom, Lynne and father Jamie, who sat in the back row. They were joined by Blair Burke, the lawyer who represents Britney's father. Both Brit and Kevin, decked out in a beige suit, gold earrings and pinky ring, were sworn in by Gordon.
According to a witness in the courtroom, when Brit-Brit was asked to state her name for the record, she whispered, almost inaudibly, "Britney." Gordon had to instruct her further to give her full name.Almost immediately after being sworn in, Britney's lawyer asked that the court be closed to the public and the request was granted by Jordan. Meanwhile, in a strange only-in-Hollywood twist, Elliott Mintz, better known as the publicist for celebutante extraordinaire Paris Hilton, has introduced himself as the new PR mouthpiece for K-Fed.

Britney & Kevin to Meet in Court

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are both expected to attend a hearing in Los Angeles family court Tuesday for a progress review, sources confirm. Though Spears has spent the last several months keeping a relatively low profile – and staying out of trouble – experts say it's unlikely the pair's current custody arrangement will change. "As long as Britney remains under a conservatorship, she has a long way to go before the court views her as a capable mother," says L.A. family lawyer Scott Weston, who is not involved in the case.Spears, who was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center's psych ward in January, currently has monitored visitation rights with her sons, Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, several times a week – but no overnight privileges. Her father, Jamie, and a lawyer maintain legal control of her affairs until a July 31 hearing. Spears has a spotty record of attending previous court hearings: On at least two occasions, the singer briefly appeared then abruptly left – in part due to the media frenzy.

Britney & K-Fed to Square Off in Court Tomorrow

When Britney Spears and her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, walk into the courtroom tomorrow, it will mark the first time in more than half a year that both parents of little Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline have sat before Commissioner Scott Gordon in their seemingly neverending custoday battle.Britney did make two aborted attempts to attend hearings before being remanded to psychiatric care — and the supervision of her father — several months ago.Sources close to the case reveal to OK! that the results are a "mixed bag" — Brit-Brit has finally learned how to make her boys the focus of her attention. But, says the source, doctors feel she still has mental issues to contend with. The evaluation, which lawyers for both sides of the case have had for two week, and which will almost certainly be discussed in a closed court, exists to aid Commissioner Gordon in ruling on Britney's requests for more visits and possible overnight stays with her young sons. Currently, the 26-year-old singer has no formal custody, though she does enjoy several, supervised, multiple-hour visits during the week. K-Fed's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, tells OK! that his client is fine with more visits — but not right away. "She needs to prove herself over time," he explains. "We need to see that there is consistency and stablility over a substantial amount of time, a slow ramping-up and not a spike." Kaplan does commend Brit's father Jamie Spears for the work he's done in stabilizing his daughter. However, he and Kevin would like to see more than two months of good behavior before agreeing to alter their current set-up in any substantial way.Britney's father and lawyers remain in legal control of her personal and financial affairs until an evaluation hearing on July 31. The actual trial for custody is not yet scheduled, but Kaplan has said in the past that it won't be until sometime in September.Source: Ok!

Spears' Baby Shower: Hush Puppies and Healing

Jamie Lynn Spears' baby shower -- which included Britney, Mama Lynne and about 30 other family member and friends -- was also a time for healing. Break out your trust quilts!A source close to the fam tells us the day's festivities included an apology from Britney for putting her family through all kinds of drama the last few years. The guests were warned ahead of time not to bring up any of Britney's antics -- in other words, no head-shaving jokes! The shower was complete with Southern style food, including a family fav, mac and cheese. Jamie Lynn also opened presents -- the best being a camouflaged hunting gear onesie. Daddy's little redneck? Yep, all is back to normal at the old Spears shack.
