Top 24 Idol Once Dated Britney

I found this out before Robbie Carrico even appeared for his very first audition. I was a little surprised they didn't say anything about it on American Idol. Just give it time. I'm sure they will. I thought it was kinda funny when Ryan Seacrest acted like he had just found out about it the other day on ENews. He said something like, "Guess which Top 24 Idol has kept it a secret that he once dated Britney Spears?" I'm sure they have been keeping it under wraps so that it wouldn't give him an unfair advantage. MTV wrote an article about it shortly after American Idol began in January. When I saw Robbie's first audition, I told my sister that it was the guy whose band used to open for Britney and that he used to date Britney. She didn't believe me at first...

This is what tv.popcrunch.com had to say about it....

Remember former boy band member Robbie Carrico on last night’s “American Idol 7″ Miami audition show? Looks like he once dated Britney Spears.
Actually, Robbie Carrico was part of the Orlando group Boyz N Girlz United, known as “a boyband with girls” and briefly dated Britney Spears in 1999, when his group opened for Britney’s “Baby One More Time” tour.
Robbie Carrico’s relationship with Britney Spears was brief— the two split after just two months.
After Boyz and Girlz United split in 2000, Robbie Carrico went on to fron the rock band Missing Pickett. Robbie Carrico made it through to the Hollywood round on the American Idol Miami audition.

So, here's a then and now photo of Robbie. Let me know what you think of him and if he has what it takes to win. I'm a huge American Idol fan, by the way.....

The “Britney Law” being proposed in LA!

Well it really was only a matter of time before something had to be done about the paparazzi…
From HollyScoop
L.A. City Councilman Dennis P. Zine is proposing that a safety zone be set up to protect areas around celebrities, hospitals, traffic, businesses, and homes, and that all paparazzi get licenses. And if they cross the zone, their license gets revokes, and they lose the money they would have made on the photo.
He says, “The straw that broke the camel’s back is the $24,000 we spent to escort an L.A. City ambulance to the hospital. I’m not infringing upon the right to take a picture. I’m concerned about the impact they have on the general public.”
The new “Britney Law” will go to the committee by March 1.
I really hope they change the name of the law!!!

Britney Cries on Arnie’s Shoulder

According to the NY Daily News, Tuesday Sam Lutfi… Britney’s “manager” called up a senior publicist who once represented California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. The reason, to discuss Britney Spears’ civil rights!
“Britney says her civil rights have been violated and she wants to talk to Arnold about it,” says a source with firsthand knowledge of the conversation.”She wants the governor to look into why she can’t get an attorney,” according to my mole. “He wanted Schwarzenegger to call him, and he said he’d hand Britney the phone,” laughs our ear-witness.
Can you believe this? I can’t. Well, because it’s Britney… I guess that yes, I can. Wow, I guess she’s not afraid to push her weight around. Isn’t there a 1-800 government phone number to call when you want to deal with filing a complaint? You know, at the entry level where clerks can throw out the looney ones?

Rolling Stone Magazine Cover

Have you all read the new Rolling Stone article about Britney? I usually don't buy a lot of magazines because I've usually already read everything that they have to say online. But the new Rolling Stone issue with Britney titled "Britney Spears - Inside An American Tradegy" actually had a bunch of info I hadn't read before about Britney. I don't know if it's posted online anywhere, but if not, you may want to buy a copy. Tell me what you thought about it.......

Britney Jurisdiction to Move to Federal Court?

You ready for more Britney Spears drama? Like we had previously mentioned, some random lawyer in NYC filed legal paperwork asking the court to have Britney's conservatorship case be taken out of the L.A. County Superior Court. Well now the state court may have lost jurisdiction in the Britney conservatorship case. According to TMZ, "It's possible jurisdiction has shifted to the U.S. Federal District Court." Although the conservatorship order is still in effect, the Federal Court may have obtained jurisdiction and no further orders can be made or modified unless and until a Federal judge sends it back to the State. What all this means is beyond me. I decided law school was not my thing after I took the LSAT's. UPDATE: The Superior Court's Public Information Office has just released the following statement: "It is our view that all current orders in this matter remain in full force and effect."

So, do you guys think the case will actually be moved to federal court? If so, will Daddy Spears remain in control?

So, Do you guys think Britney's life is taking a turn for the better in 2008??? Comment below!

Britney's Shopping Day: Browsing, Not Buying

Friday brought some relatively quiet time for Britney Spears, who spent the afternoon shopping in West Hollywood at the boutique of Monique Lhuillier – who designed Spears's wedding dresses – and the Fred Segal and the Betsey Johnson stores. At all three places she appeared to do more browsing than buying as the President's Day weekend was just beginning. On the domestic front, her family is caring for the pop star. Father Jamie Spears has been granted a co-conservatorship over his daughter's affairs, while brother Bryan is acting a co-trustee of his sister's revocable trust. (A Los Angeles County Superior Court commissioner placed Spears under a conservatorship at the beginning of this month. Such conservatorships are established when a court determines an individual cannot take care of herself or her affairs.) Mother Lynne Spears, who departed Los Angeles earlier this week, had been part of the attempted healing process, spending rare quality time with her daughter – cooking for and shopping with her. In terms of the calendar, Saturday marks an unusual anniversary: It's exactly a year since the pop star turned heads by shaving hers.

Britney Shoplifting Rumor?

This story is still developing. Brit spent a relatively quiet day shopping yesterday, but there are “reports” today from X-17’s website that Brit may have done a little bit of the Bai Ling. Okay, that was a lame joke - the Bai Ling meant Brit did a bit of shoplifting. Geez. Anyway, here’s the scoop. She went to Fred Segal on Melrose Avenue wearing a leopard print top. She came out with a black top, which wasn’t paid for. That’s the story being told. We don’t have confirmation if this is true or not, but I just wanted to give y’all the info. We’ll definitely post any updates, so stay tuned.

Sam Being Investigated

Sam Being Investigated

Friday, February 15th, 2008

This is interesting news. TMZ.com is reporting tonight that Sam Lutfi is being investigated by the LAPD. There is an active investigation being conducted by the Major Crimes Division on whether or not Sam drugged Britney Spears. Claims made by Jamie and Lynne Spears that Sam used drugs to control their daughter were not made in vain, I guess. The LAPD was listening after all. Also, the restraining order filed by the Spears against Sam has not been served. Sam’s been very good about dodging being served, I guess, or the folks serving it totally suck at their job. Anyway, there will definitely be more updates on these stories in the next week or so, so stay tuned.

Are Sam's Intentions Good? Probably Not...

Sam Helping Britney Fight Back
By Natalie Finn and Ken Baker

Sam Lutfi may be trying to make a federal case out of Britney Spears' travails, but it doesn't appear he's been successful just yet.
A Los Angeles Superior Court spokesperson told E! News Friday that all of the orders pertaining to Jamie Spears' conservatorship over his daughter's affairs are still being handled in the local court, contrary to reports that the case has been transferred to federal jurisdiction.
And, contrary to the efforts of Britney's dearest-if-not-so-nearest to take it there.
Sources close to the situation confirm that Lutfi, who after two weeks has yet to be served with the restraining order Britney's family obtained against him Feb. 1, is behind the filing this week of a strongly worded petition seeking to move the troubled singer's custody and conservatorship cases from L.A. court to federal court.
"Sam is at war with Jamie. This is his first strike," a Spears insider said Friday, explaining that Lutfi feels Britney's rights were violated because court-appointed attorneys did not investigate the claims her family was making about her condition.
Lutfi's new publicist, Michael Sands, who insists that the case has been transferred, filed the petition this week on behalf of New York attorney Jon Eardley, who is listed in the paperwork as Britney's counsel.
"Ms. Spears has been denied the right to associate freely with friends. She has been denied the right to make or receive telephone calls. She has been denied the right to operate a motor vehicle…She has been denied the right to receive and send mail," the petition states.
"Additionally she has been denied the right to her finances. She is not allowed to access her money or credit cards."
"Britney has expressed that she doesn't want to be under the lock and control of her family," Sands said Friday. "She wants nothing to do with her father."
And the case now "resides" in federal court, due to a technicality, he added.
"Because the court's order appointing her father conservator until Mar. 10 wasn't signed until after the notice of removal was filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court...the order extending the conservatorship...is void and invalid," Sands rationalized.
But although Sands suggests that it's time for Jamie to back off, the Superior Court spokesperson maintained that they have received no request to turn over any materials related to the Spears' case to U.S. District Court.
Meanwhile, E!'s source says Britney spoke to Eardley before the petition was filed and is planning a new attack on her dad's conservator status.
Eardley is planning to present evidence showing Jamie is not qualified to oversee her affairs, even with the help of a coconservator, and will point to examples in his personal and professional history to prove he isn't capable of making decisions for his daughter, the source said.
"She has basically conveyed that she doesn't want to be in her family's control," Sands said.
Legal experts say, however, that because Britney was previously found unfit to hire her own counsel, it's unlikely that Eardley will be allowed to represent her, thereby making the petition to transfer the case invalid.
Eardley could not be reached directly for comment but, via Sands, he said, "I will try this case in court, not in the media."
On Thursday, L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz extended Jamie Spears' conservator status until at least Mar. 10, when the next hearing is scheduled, and named Britney's brother, Bryan Spears, and his attorney cotrustees of her SBJ Trust, which is used to pay for daily expenses and medical bills.
Britney's increased efforts to push her dad out of the picture come just as she seemed to be settling into a warmer relationship with mom Lynne, whom she hadn't seen for months before her blow-up with Lutfi last month that resulted in a mass migration of paparazzi, cops and, eventually, Britney's parents to her Beverly Hills home.
But the quality time will be on hold for awhile as Lynne heads back to their hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, where 16-year-old daughter Jamie Lynn could probably use some guidance, as well.
"Lynne feels like Britney is in a much better place and on the right track," a family insider says. "She had to get home and take care of Jamie Lynn and other personal matters. She will be back soon."

Britney's Case Isn't Going Anywhere Yet

In the wake of papers being filed at the L.A. Superior Court yesterday in which lawyer Jon Eardley asked that Britney Spears' conservatorship and custody cases be moved to the Federal courts, the Superior Court's Public Information Office has released a statement that reads, "It is our view that all current orders in this matter remain in full force and effect."
Michael Sands, a publicist who has most recently been linked to Britney's former pal and manager, Sam Lutfi, told PageSix.com today that the papers filed yesterday would negate both the conservatorship (in which Britney's father, Jamie, was given control over her finances and medical care), and the 21-day restraining order against Lutfi.
But Public Inormation Office says that's not the case, telling PageSix.com, "This has no bearing on either the pending probate case or custody case that we are aware of."
Sands maintains that Eardley has been hired as Britney's lawyer, but the commissioner in the conservatorship case ruled earlier this month that the 26-year-old was not mentally capable of retaining counsel.

The New & Improved Britney Spears

Look at her!!!
Doesn't she appear calmer????
We are loving the new Brit Brit, and we're especially loving her new security detail and assistant.
Spears has been relatively calm lately, and that's a good thing. Her new meds must be kickin' in!
Britney and posse did a little shopping in LA on Friday at the Fred Seagal store. Thankfully the late nights and aimless driving around town seem to be done.
The bad influences are gone from her life!
And, speaking of bad influences, the Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that they are looking into allegations that Brit's former "manager" Osama Lutfi drugged her.
Homie better stay in hiding. Shit's about to go down for him!
