Gone are the pink wigs, ratty hair and fake british accent the world has come to associate with Britney Spears. In their place, a fresh faced, natural brunette who has been reporting to work, making regular visits with her sons and seems in general, to be focused on taking her life back.On March 24, the once reigning pop star made a highly anticipated cameo appearance on the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother. Her performance was so good, she managed to wow not only the audience, but her co-stars as well."The only thing scandalous about this is how un-scandalous it all is," says HIMYM co-star, Josh Radnor, of Britney's appearance on the show.Playing Abby, the nerdy receptionist, the bit part is just one of the baby steps the singer seems bent on taking to get back in fighting form. As she begins to rediscover herself, she seems to also be rediscovering her love for dance. In addition to teaching kids at Millennium Dance Complex, the singer has been rehearsing alone, stopping in for two hours at a time to learn a chair routine for her new song, Hot as Ice. Sources say Britney may even want to open her own dance studio in the future and is considering The Dome, a 25oo sq. foot section of Millennium, currently closed.Even Brit's father, Jamie Spears, seems to be loosening up on his rules---a bit."Britney is addicted to driving," An insider tells OK!. "Initially, her father wouldn't let her drive at all, but he knows how much she loves it and it calms her, so he's softened the restriction. You Could Buy One of Britney Spears' Cars

People reports that a court has given Britney Spears' dad, Jamie Spears, "the power to 'sell or dispose of' an undisclosed number of her seven cars." Fox News says that a lawyer for Britney's father stated that "the cost of upkeep for Brit's army of vehicles was really running up the bills." According to NME, Mr. Spears "will maintain control of the estate until a hearing on July 31." Britney's fleet of cars includes a Mercedes-Benz SL65 Roadster and CLK350 Convertible, a MINI Cooper Convertible and an undisclosed Audi. Autoblog notes that a classic 1956 Porsche 356A Speedster may be among the lot as well.The Mercedes convertible may be the most famous of the brood, as it's been involved in several incidents over the past year. These include the pop star's run-in with the law when she illegally parked in a handicapped space (as reported by US magazine) and, on a separate occasion, ran over a cop's foot (as reported by People). In 2006, Brit's MINI Cooper also gained notoriety when she was photographed driving with her young son's infant seat facing the wrong way, MSNBC reported.So when will the famous singer's car troubles end? Britney Spears has been replaced and stunningly it is not be her little sister Jamie Lynn Spears. While the Spears sisters are still dominating entertainment magazine covers (With Jamie Lynn's pregnancy and supposed engagement and Britney's latest meltdown) it appears some are ready to move on. The new prime paparazzi target is the star of Disney's Hannah Montana, the young superstar Miley Cyrus.

That is apparently by design, according to a report from the New York Daily News. The photographers may have tired of Britney as she just isn't as interesting without the wild nightlife and the one time flashing of skin that her dad has seemed to be able to keep in check.
***None of this can be very good news for Miley Cyrus. She seems pretty level headed for a fifteen-year-old girl but with a pack of photographers stalking and watching your every move and recording your every word when you are out it could be problematic.According to the paper over the weekend less than a half a dozen snappers were on the trail of Britney Spears while the number trailing Miley Cyrus was around thirty.

Britney Spears Back to British: Dines With Bodyguard

Is Britney Spears back to dating the help? She certainly is back to speaking with her British accent but with her big debut on "How I Met Your Mother" getting rave reviews, perhaps she is just practicing for a part in her next acting role. According to a report from us Weekly magazine, Britney Spears celebrated her big TV comeback Monday night with a dinner date with her bodyguard and a female friend in Beverly Hills.

***"She looked so good, completely normal," the eyewitness adds. "She was smiling and laughing in the loud obnoxious Britney laugh." The report notes that the singer had a good reason to rejoice: Her cameo on CBS' Hot I Met Your Mother helped the show earn its highest ratings ever!The show spiked to a series high 4.5 preliminary rating among adults 18-49, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Critics also praised her performance. "She looked beautiful and had screen presence," Charna Halpern, artistic director of Chicago’s Improv Olympic Comedy Club, tells Us. "Even when she was behind the desk and they made her look kind of homely, she was adorable."

Britney Getting a Bum Rap?

Britney Spears' attorney is trying his best to steer her out of trouble.
Legal eagle Michael Flanagan tells E! News he's not planning to let the beleaguered singer cop a plea on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a valid California license, saying it's who his client is and not what she did that's keeping this case on the docket.
"Anyone can see this is not the case of the century. The fact is that Britney is being treated differently," he said. "This should be just treated as a fix-it ticket or an infraction."
"Her mother, father, sister all have Louisiana licenses," Flanagan added. "It is a Louisiana family. In California, you have to get a license within 10 days if you are domiciled here.
"But whether you are domiciled is a state of mind. She had a valid Louisiana license at the time of the accident without a mark on her record."
Spears is scheduled to go to trial June 18, a court date her camp is looking to avoid.
Flanagan has drafted a motion to have the case dismissed but, because it's Britney, he'll have to take at least one extra step before he files.
The defendant needs to sign a declaration permitting him to move forward, but Flanagan figures he'll have to get the go-ahead from the 26-year-old divorcée's conservatorship, considering Britney has been ruled temporarily incapable of entering a plea on her own behalf.
"It may be that Jamie or Lynne have to sign for her," the lawyer said. Lynne Spears, Britney's mom, is not part of the conservatorship, however, so it's dad Jamie Spears and his coconservator, attorney Andrew Wallet, whose signatures would be needed to seal the deal.
Britney's vehicular troubles stem from her August 2007 run-in with a parked car that was captured ever-so-efficiently by the ubiquitous paparazzi. Although she eventually settled up with the car's owner, a complaint had already been filed, leading to the invalid license charge.

Long before Simon Cowell had his grips on American Idol contestant Kristy Lee Cook, another pop diva played mentor to the Carrie Underwood wannabe.
Back in 2000, Britney Spears signed 17-year-old Kristy as the first artist in her newly formed production company.
"Britney would tell her how beautiful and talented she was," says Marty Rendleman, Kristy’s manager at the time. "She told her that she would do whatever she needed to promote her and help launch her career."
The pop diva even promised to be in Kristy’s first video once her album dropped. But in 2003, Kristy asked to be released from her contract to pursue independent music projects.
It may have seemed like a questionable move at the time, but we're starting to think Simon has underestimated this season-seven finalist because one of these girls has a tour coming up this summer...and it's not Britney.

Britney Spears a Mentor to American Idol Finalist Kristy Lee Cook

Many are shocked that the country singing cutie Kristy Lee Cook is still alive on American idol after so many disappointing performances but she has made the tour as she is now in the top ten. But she did have quite the mentor, the Oregon native was once mentored by Britney Spears way back when Britney was still on top of the pop world.Kristy Lee was once thought to be the next Carrie Underwood but that certainly isn't happening anytime soon as she has been in the bottom three for the last few weeks as she has taken some incredible risks with some different songs and all have fallen flat. She seems like she really does have talent but it has yet to show itself on the American idol stage. Still as the last contestant standing that sings country music, she might be able to hang on just a few more weeks with some decent performances.So, can Britney take credit? Probably not. But according to E! Online the pair were very close in 2003 and Britney was quite infatuated with the then 17-year old talent. They have an adorable photo of the pair here. Henry Rollins Claims Britney Spears Can’t Sing

Henry Rollins is shooting his mouth off again…and this time it’s about Britney Spears. He claims that Britney can’t sing on her own albums. This is what he said:“They have the black chick come in and sing, and Britney sings over it, and they mix them together,” said Rollins, who has his own talk show on IFC. “(Britney) gets her phrasing basically from this older R&B woman.I found that out talking to an engineer. “Britney apparently isn’t actually the worst singer, she just has no feel. So they bring in this older black woman who sings the song, then Britney sings to it, and they kind of make a mix of the two voices, and that’s what you hear on the records.”

Miley Is the New Britney

Since Britney Spears is boring now, a ton of paps that once followed her every move have been reassigned to Miley Cyrus. For the past few weeks there are at least 30 paparazzi's that follow Miley day and night. The NY Daily News reports, "Over the weekend, there were less than a half dozen covering Britney. Yet there were 30 in the pack covering Miley Cyrus. Most of them were Britney regulars, but they want something new and fresh. It's moved on to Miley." At this point Miley could end up in rehab by her 18th birthday. She's loving the attention wayyyy too much. It doesn't help that her attention hungry mother follows her around and buys the paps goodies like food and Starbucks. I'd follow her around for a venti caramel frap too.

Taking Care of TCB

Boring Britney was being her usual boring self on Wednesday. And that's a good thing!
The recovering mother of two had a dentist's appointment in the Valley and was accompanied by her wonderfully protective security details.
Signs of old Britney were still there, though. Most notably her oil-stained dressed and those cowboy boots.
Girlfriend needs to have a garage sale and get rid of all the shoes in her closet!

Britney's Back….and On Top!

As we mentioned last week, Britney Spears was set to appear in the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother.
And, surprisingly enough, when it aired last night, the show received its highest ratings ever!
Even more surprising, the critics liked it!
The Associated Press stated, "Britney the Trainwreck showed how she can still be Britney the Performer. The 26-year-old pop star, who previously was on a 2006 episode of Will and Grace, appeared fresh-faced and relaxed, capably filling the small role."
The Daily News stated that for "those who hang on every one of Britney's career moves, this bold casting decision worked out. Spears proved she can act every bit as well as she can sing, and with some of the nuances she brought to the character, you'd almost swear she'd been there before."
Could this possibly be the comeback Britney and the rest of the world has been waiting for?

Britney's Back, Bitches!

She is reborn!
God has heard our prayers. Yes, she may not be as "entertaining" as she was during her crazy days, but she's a real person and she was in real danger of ending up like Anna Nicole Smith. NOT a good thing!
Britney made her big appearance on How I Met Your Mother yesterday, and, something special also happened on Monday too. She got back to work!
Momma Spears was spotted at the Alleycat Recording Studio in Hollywood.
Now that she's seeing her kids again and her dad has helped her get better, Britney is getting her career back on track (we hope).
We're ready for a proper comeback. You can do it, girl!!!
